NC State Genetics At Work! Featuring Dr. Richard Lyman, Senior Researcher

Dr. Richard Lyman’s (Mackay Laboratory) research focuses on the effects of naturally occurring genetic variation on quantitative traits in Drosophila. He is particularly interested in variation in abdominal development and patterning. Differences in abdominal structure and patterning occurs between species of Drosophila and can be used in identifying flies to the species level.
