Obtaining NC Residency

Applying for North Carolina Residency

It is required by the Graduate School that all graduate students apply for in-state North Carolina residency. Genetics graduate students should begin taking action immediately at the time of starting the Genetics Program.

Graduate students currently classified as non-residents who wish to apply for in-state residency for tuition purposes should apply using the Residency page. Applications for Residency reclassification for the Fall2022 semester are due by October 6, 2022. The Application will reopen for Spring 2023 in the new year. If you have any questions, email Tyler DeAtley (tdeatle@ncsu.edu), graduate services coordinator.
